When cherry trees start blossoming they look like a scene from a fairy tale. They possess beauty so extraordinary that we can easily say they are a miracle of nature.DSC_0128Cherries have a special place in Japanese culture. Blooming Japanese cherry trees symbolize the beginning of a new life. In Japan cherry blossom festivals are held for two weeks in 11 cities. During the cherry blossom season people set a date for their weddings, start a new business, all in all this period marks a turning point in the lives of Japanese people. DSC_0211They are a symbol of beauty and aesthetics, so when they start blooming Japanese people together with their families and friends visit parks, gardens and temples with the sole purpose of viewing the cherry flowers.DSC_0187Cherries remind us of the transience of life. For centuries, poets and musicians found inspiration in the sakura.DSC_0216Cherry trees are associated with Maxim Gorky Street in Skopje which is most beautiful during the Japanese cherry trees blooming season. Therefore, Balkon3 visited the street and of set its camera to capture the beauty of pink Japanese cherry flowers, piecing them together with some lovely balconies on the beautiful old buildings in Skopje.
