Rockwave Festival – is taking place at Terra Vibe Park in Malakasa, a small town 40 км from Athens (40 minutes by car) on 6th, 7thand 8th July. Rockwave festival has been organized since 1996 and is considered one of the biggest and most popular festivals in Greece and Southeastern Europe with a line-up consisting of many famous names of the international music stage.This year’s line-up includes: Lana Del Ray, Dead Can Dance, Echo and the Bunnymen and many more.

Kalamata International Dance FestivalThe festival is held in the town of Kalamata between 18th and 25th July 2013. It was first organized in 1995 and the idea behind it is to demonstrate and promote the wide variety of trends in contemporary dance.

Roger Waters, The Wall Tour – former bassist and co-lead vocalist ofthe band Pink Floyd is on a world concert tour“ The Wall live”.The concert will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Athens on 31st July 2013. Ticket prices range from €44 to €64.

Renaissance Festival of Rethymnohas been organized in the town of Rethymno on Crete for 20 years now. The Renaissance Festival is a spiritual and art festival that features hundreds of artists from around the world, brilliant theatre plays and ballet performances, art exhibitions and concerts. The festival lasts from 25th August to 5th September.

How to get there:

Skopje – Athens 710 km, Athens – Heraklion, capital of Crete by ferryboat, the journey takes 6 and a half or 7 hours. Return ferryboat tickets for one vehicle and two passengers will cost €35 to €40 at the time of the festival. Heraklion – Rethymno 82 km, 1 hrs 10 min by car.

Istanbul – Athens (via Alexandroupoli) 1100 km, 11 hours by car.

Istanbul – Heraklion by plane 1 hrs 35 min
