Balkon3 takes you on a boat ride through Matka Canyon, down the Treska river to Vrelo cave. The canyon is situated only 15 km from Skopje and Vrelo cave is one of the deepest underwater caves in the world that has still not been completely explored. These natural beauties along with Ohrid Lake were Macedonia’s contenders for the New Seven Wonders of Nature.Matka Canyon is regularly visited by tourists from all over the world, by fans of extreme sports (mountaineering, whitewater and flatwater kayaking), speleologists, adventurers, recreationists… Besides these gifts of nature the canyon harbors a number of medieval churches and monasteries, most of which have been fully preserved, so Matka is also known as Little Mount Athos.
