Cake Shop Palma

A cake shop with an exotic name, a 40-year-old tradition and the ice-cream of our and our parents’ childhood. I, for one, first relished in the magical taste of ice-cream here in Palma some 25 years ago. The cake shop is located in Taftalidze quart, on the busiest boulevard in Skopje – Partizanski Odredi Boulevard. If you see a line of cars parked in the first lane, their owners have certainly stopped for an ice-cream in Palma.

Three scoops of ice-cream (a decent serving size unless you are an “addict”) in a sugar cone cost 75 denars (€1,2), and if you have them served in a bowl they cost 105 denars (€1,7). The cake shop is a family-owned business by the Bayram family. They have a wide variety of cakes on their menu, along with the inevitable boza, lemonade and blueberry juice. You can also have coffee here, which is unusual for traditional cake shops in Skopje.
